Personal Development: Personal and professional skills-problem solving and professionalism

Hi Blog world,

This past week I learned about personal and professional skills: problem solving and what it means to be professional.

The personal and professional skills class talked about how we all communicate in different ways and how it is different among the people around us, such as our friends, family and in our professional life. I also learned about how to be enthusiastic during the job search and how to continue showing your enthusiasm while your on the job.

Our second lesson was on problem solving and professionalism. To me, I feel like I learned that problem solving can have different meaning while your on the job, for example, working on how to get something fixed on your own, or how to work  with a co-worker. I feel like this skill relates back to one of our earliest lesson of being a team player and getting to certain goals. I feel like another value that had I learned about with problem solving is learning to slow down and think things through before you make a decisions. This is a goal that I would personal like to work on for myself. I also learned that having professionalism and being enthusiastic can help you do your best while on the job.

The lesson on professionalism was a long one. My teacher was using this lesson to help me understand that its important to work hard and to do the tasks that are assigned to you.

All in all, I feel like all these skills I have learned so far can also be used to better myself in my personal life.
